Urban bees

Urban Bees in Streatham Hill, London. Taken with an Olympus OM-D E-M1

I just got my hands on the new M.Zuiko Pro 40-150mm f2.8 (equivalent 80-300mm) lens from Olympus and have been keen to test it out. What an amazing lens! So light for the range of zoom it offers at f2.8. Even my Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 is heavier than this lens.

The lens claims to delivers a 70cm minimum focus distance and has a fast autofocus at all focal lengths so I thought I would set it the challenge of photographing something small and fast.  I spotted these bees on a lavender plant just around the corner from my house and thought they were the perfect subject. Have a look for yourselves, but I was really impressed with the results.
